Regional Development Australia Southern NSW & ACT is excited to announce that tickets are now on sale for the Regional Tourism Roundtable, a strategic forum bringing together national, regional and local tourism stakeholders to shape the future of the visitor economy in southern NSW and ACT.
The Roundtable will explore key challenges impacting the visitor economy, including housing, workforce, transport, infrastructure and climate change, and identify actionable solutions to drive sustainable regional growth.
“Tourism is deeply interconnected with broader regional issues, such as housing, workforce attraction and retention, transport and infrastructure, and the impacts of a changing climate,” said Olivia West, CEO – Regional Development Australia Southern NSW & ACT.
“The Roundtable aims to understand these challenges, uncover opportunities and identify actionable solutions that can deliver both immediate and long term benefits to the visitor economy.”
With support from leading tourism organisations such as Destination Southern NSW, Destination Sydney Surrounds South, Visit Canberra and Canberra Region Tourism Leaders Forum, the event will build on existing strategies and foster collaboration across the sector.
The program features a keynote address from x, a panel discussion including x, and a facilitated, themed roundtable session. A networking lunch will provide opportunities to connect and share ideas.
“What differentiates our event is that participants will participate in a facilitated afternoon session, based on key themes and challenges identified by attendees,” continued Ms West.
“We will use the outcomes of this facilitated session, plus the industry data and strategies already developed, to release a report that industry can advocate for, operators can implement, and governments can support.”
