| What will we explore
The roundtable will explore what it takes to support people to age well and remain independent in their communities. Bringing together perspectives from aged care, health, housing, transport, workforce, community, planning and government, the conversation will consider how people navigate current systems, where the biggest gaps exist, what is already working across regional communities and where there are opportunities for collaboration. Together, we will identify practical actions and recommendations that can help build stronger pathways for ageing well across Southern NSW and the ACT.

This conversation brings together people from across the region who have a role to play in helping our communities age well - from aged care and health providers to government, local government, housing, transport, workforce, education, community organisations and industry. By bringing these different perspectives together, we can look beyond individual services and work together to understand the bigger picture, share what’s working and identify practical opportunities for stronger, more connected regional communities.

Panel One — Navigating Health, Aged Care and Community Care
Will look at the experience of moving through the health, aged care and community care system. Bringing together perspectives from Coordinare, ACT Health, NSW Health, My Aged Care/Support at Home, aged care providers and consumer advocates, the panel will ask two important questions: How do people actually move through the system? and Where are they getting lost?
Panel Two — Building Communities that Support Ageing
Shifts the conversation beyond services to the places where people live. Representatives from housing, local government, regional planning, retirement living, community transport and property development will explore the question: How do we design communities where people can remain independent?
